What makes us different?

This April (2022) sees us celebrate the 30th anniversary of Richard James, after opening our doors in Wroughton back in 1992. Since then, we’ve been fortunate enough to help clients of multiple generations find their dream homes and have expanded across 8 offices that cover Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.
As well as Sales, we are also home to Richard James Lettings, Land & New Homes, and Apartments & Investments, which allows us to successfully work as a brilliant team, delivering quality service to the people who need it most. This means whether you are embarking upon the journey of buying your first home, or you’re an experienced Landlord with a large portfolio of rental properties, we’ve got you covered.

#1 Teamwork

Having a large team of experts has many benefits and our number one priority is working cohesively and effectively, to provide the best service possible to our clients. There is never a time when we don’t keep the ball moving and that’s because we rely upon each other to get the job done.
We have members of our team who also work behind the scenes to ensure that not only our clients benefit from the work that we do, but that our employees are well looked after and continuing to develop professionally. You might have seen our most recent team video ‘Looking for your next move?’ which explains more about what exactly it is that we do here and how our members of staff (who have been here the longest) pass on their 20+ years of knowledge to our newest recruits and apprentices.

As mentioned above, our number one priority is delivering the best service to our clients, so if you’ve worked with us in the last 30 years, you’ll know that all our dealings are straightforward because we take pride in delivering a service that is efficient and dynamic, with no sacrifice in quality.

#3 Going The Extra Mile

We always go the extra mile for our clients and our passion for property, together with quality service and genuine commitment, results in a company you can trust. We know our local markets inside out and take the time to understand our clients’ needs – no matter the circumstance.
Having many offices across Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, gives us a large database and a combined insight like no other, which could be the difference between your property selling or remaining on the market. After all, it only takes one person to fall in love and later purchase your home.
Maximising the value of your home means presenting it in a way that appeals to the highest number of potential buyers, and we know exactly what will make them want to take a closer look – Aerial footage, videography and virtual tours really make a home stand out from the rest. We’re continuously developing our marketing packages and offerings, to ensure every home is marketed, perfectly.

#4 Community Support

It’s been a real pleasure of ours to be able to support so many local businesses, charities, and events and that’s because of the support we have received from the community. Heading back to where it all began in Wroughton, we’ve been fortunate enough to sponsor the Wroughton Youth Football, an Olympic hopeful, The Prospect Hospice, multiple school fetes, and the annual Christmas Tree – we help out wherever we can! 
But we don’t stop there, since we’ve expanded across our 8 sales offices and our HQ in Swindon, we’ve been fortunate enough to feature some local businesses in our popular social media campaigns over the years, including The Forum in Swindon’s Town Centre, The Little Gem in Royal Wootton Bassett, and The Cricklade Club in Cricklade.
We’re always out and about too, in well-known locations such as The Stray in Tadpole Garden Village, The Town Gardens in Old Town and the historic stones at Avebury so if you ever see us, please do come over and say hello, we love to chat! #5 Technology

As well as featuring on the well-known property portals such as Rightmove and Zoopla, we’re always trying new things to make your journey that little bit more exciting. After all, finding your dream home should be the most exciting journey of them all! We work closely with a fantastic team of videographers who produce quality property videography, allowing us to bring you high-definition home movies of some of the most fantastic properties in Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire. As well as that, we’ve also taken to social media like a duck to water (well, we try our best – haha!). Each of our branches runs its own Instagram account and in addition to this, we post updates to our main accounts on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube.
So that’s us rounded up into 5 key points and well, what a journey it’s been… We’ve been doing our thing since 1992! That’s 30 years since Richard & Marlene opened the doors to our first office in Wroughton and we cannot believe how quickly the years have flown by.
