Combine swimming and barbecuing at Cotswold Country Park and Beach. You can hire a barbecue from 10am to 5.30pm, complete with 3kg of coal. Prices are £60 on weekends and £40 midweek for up to 24 guests. After your meal, take a dip in the swimming lagoon and relax on the beach.
5. Best for Freedom: Have a Picnic Instead
Due to fire risks, many places like Savernake Forest have banned barbecues. However, picnics are a fantastic alternative. With a picnic, your options are endless—from Swindon’s Town Gardens and Queens Park to the scenic Savernake Forest. Plus, picnics are free and you won’t have to worry about burnt sausages.
