Swindon’s pride, The Wessex Choir, has once again proven its mettle by clinching three prestigious honours at the Bangor International Choral Festival.
The Wessex Choir, renowned for its harmonious melodies and captivating performances, returned home from the festival with a triumphant haul of trophies. The choir was celebrated as the Best Male Voice Choir, recognised for the Best Sacred Performance, and lauded as the Best Visiting Choir. This triumphant achievement follows their strong performance at the mid-Somerset festival, further cementing their reputation as one of the UK’s most accomplished male voice choirs.
Andy Entwistle, the Chairman of The Wessex Choir, expressed his pride in the choir’s achievements. “This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication of each member of The Wessex Choir. We are proud to represent Swindon on the international stage, and to champion local talents,” he said.
But the choir isn’t resting on its laurels. The Wessex Choir is set to compete at the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts later this month, and is also preparing for its summer concert on June 29 at Swindon’s Christ Church. The evening, jointly with the Barry Male Voice Choir, promises to showcase the talents that make The Wessex Choir one of the UK’s most accomplished male voice choirs.
